Architectural Review

The Architectural Review Board is the HOA committee that ensures that proposed improvements and/or changes to the exterior of homes or to landscaping are consistent with the architectural and landscaping designs for the Village at Highlands.  Proposed improvements and/or changes may include:

  • patio awnings and umbrellas
  • storm and screen doors
  • privacy and other fences
  • outdoor Jacuzzis or hot tubs
  • fountains and pools
  • statues and other outdoor ornamentation
  • shrubs, trees, and garden plantings
  • edging for lawns and shrub/tree beds
  • retaining walls
  • outside lighting
  • satellite dish location
  • security signs

If you are planning any changes to the exterior of your home or to your landscaping, please check the Architectural Review Guidelines, and contact the chair of the Architectural Review Board.  Note that ARB forms must be submitted in advance for alterations to your house or landscaping that require ARB approval.

Fencing Guidelines:  At its meeting on April 30, 2015 the Board approved a change to the Architectural Review Board fencing guidelines.  The approved amendment is part of the Architectural Review Guidelines.

"For Sale" Signs:  "For Sale" signs are now permitted in front yards when Village homes are for sale.  A document on "For Sale" signs is appended to the Architectural Review Guidelines.
